Most home IT problems are fixed over a secure remote connection. You download a small tool, read out a code over the phone, and watch on screen while the problem gets sorted. Nothing stays installed afterwards, and nothing happens without you seeing it.

Home Visits When You Need Them

Some jobs need someone actually there: new equipment, WiFi coverage, machines that will not start, or simply a preference for a person at the kitchen table rather than a voice on the phone. Visits are available across Uckfield and the surrounding villages and towns, and there is no call-out charge for travel within the local area.

Can someone come to my home to fix my computer?

Yes. Most problems are actually fixed faster by secure remote connection, usually the same day you call, but home visits are available across Uckfield and the surrounding East Sussex area whenever the job needs someone there in person.

I am not technical. Will I understand what is going on?

That is rather the point. Everything gets explained in plain English, you can watch everything that happens during a remote session, and you will never be talked into things you do not need. A lot of our home clients just want someone patient who does not make them feel silly for asking.

Can you set up my new computer and move everything across?

Yes. Files, photos, email and favourites moved over, software installed, printer connected, junk removed and security set up properly. Nothing is wiped from the old machine until you have confirmed everything arrived.

How much does home IT support cost?

Ad-hoc help is £90 per hour, or £70 per hour for GNL Protect members, and many home jobs are done well within the hour. For ongoing cover, GNL Protect Essential looks after one computer with managed security, monitoring and included support time for £30 a month including VAT.
